New Years Resolutions Revised

I know it is only half way through January and a bit to early to be second guessing the resolutions I made. But I am not necessarily second guessing my resolutions but the time frame in which I focus them! My family has decided to make this year our year to hit our weight goals. So we have broken this year into quarters of competition to hit our weight loss goals so I am making different goals and resolutions for each quarter. The Weight Loss challenge is whoever loses the most body mass percentage each quarter wins $100 to spend as they see fit!

So the first quarter is from January 1st-March 31st and my first quarter goals are:

1. Lose 35 pounds (This is the most I plan to lose in one quarter, but I want to get a good start and get back decently under 200 pounds)
2. No Soda or Gluten!
3. Read 5 Books
4. Finish my school work from Virginia and one of my two online classes
5. Finish fixing up my room
6. Workout 5 days a week
7. Reach 1500 page views on my blog

I think this is a great start for the first 3 months of 2014. Wish me luck!!! I really want to reach my goals and win a bit of cash in the process :) What are your goals this year? If you haven't made any because you think a year is unrealistic of a time frame for goal setting well cut the year in half or quarters and set important short term goals to help you reach your long term goals!

And if you start getting discouraged remember this....

December Favorites/Christmas Gifts

I know we are now almost half way through January so my December Favorites post is coming out very late but better late than never. With the holidays we all need some catching up now!
All but one of my favorites are Christmas gifts, oh wonderful Christmas :)

My first favorite for December is this desk from IKEA my parents got me. This is a Micke Workstation and it is a great price for a very nice desk. The only downfall is you have to assemble it yourself, luckily it wasn't as bad as some of the other furniture I got.

Next are the two organizers I got from the Container Store. I got 2 Clear 3-Drawer Boxes that fit perfectly in the cubby of my corner desk and fit all my cosmetics besides my palletes :)

The next two items are I got for myself from Ulta. I absolutely love my job there and getting an employee discount isn't half bad either. First, I got this Conair Cheetah Illumina MakeUp Mirror that lights up and has a double sided mirror one side is magnified. It fits perfectly in my room and makes my desk more equipped to be like a vanity. Second, for Christmas I got myself a brand new blow dryer. I go the Ultra Chi Pro Low EMF Cheetah Print Hair Dryer and it is amazing. It makes my hair look like I just left my hair stylist with a fantastic blow out. This one was a limited edition but I really recommend the Chi hair dryers!!

My favorite pieces of jewelry came from my best friend Falon and my wonderful Aunt Stacey! Falon got me the gorgeous rose gold watch from Charming Charlies (she also got me the Fifty Shades of Grey book ;) which I will talk much more about in my January Favorites ). The beautiful gold bracelet on the left is from my Aunt Stacey and it is from Stella & Dot. It is gorgeous and it is very hard for me to find bracelets that fit my wrists comfortably but this bracelet hits it on the mark. She also got me a gorgeous lavender/purple scarf that I unfortunately didn't get a picture of and some gluten free waffle mix that I can use with my mom's new waffle maker and I can not wait to try it this month!!!

Next were gifts from my cousin Brooklin and my dad. My cousin got me my favorite movie from 2013 on DVD!!! Love this movie and it never gets old!! She also got me Breaking Dawn 2 which completes my series and look forward to a Twilight Series marathon hopefully soon! My dad bought me Mary Poppins on Blu Ray to add to my Disney movie collection! This is my first Blu Ray :)

I of course have to add some scents/fragrences for December favorites. My two favorite scents at the moment are the new Velvet Sugar Fine Fragrance Mist and Body Lotion from Bath and Body Works and the Strawberries and Champagne VS Fantasies Fragrance Mist and Ultra Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream. I got both of these around the same time, my mom bought the Velvet Sugar mist and lotion and gave it to me as an early Christmas present, and ever since I wish on and off each day with the two because I love them both so much.

Lastly, my Aunt Wanda is amazing and gave me a bunch of CD's for Christmas including 3 Boys to Men, The Mortal Instruments, Frozen, and Pentatonix CD's but my all time favorite one at the moment is the new Katy Perry Prism CD!!! IT IS AMAZING!! Best cd she has ever done!! So here are some of my favorite songs from her new album...

Okay so I pretty much love the whole stinking album!! Buy her album it is worth it!!

Thank you to all of my friends and family that made December so wonderful not through your presents, but through your love, support and kindness!!!

Lets all have an awesome January!

Goodbye 2013, HELLO 2014

New Years has always been one of my favorite holidays, but not for the normal reasons like dressing up, partying, etc. but for the tradition of resolution, goal setting, and the breath of fresh air for a new year, and a new me! Of course it is great to set goals all year round, which I do. But I love having hope for a great year, changes in myself and progress. I have set many resolutions in the past, and before I would set tons of resolutions that were completely unrealistic. So my resolution for 2013 was simple... NO SODA. And guess what? It worked, I didn't drink soda for an entire 9 months. But this year I am upping my game and adding to the No Soda resolution.

My resolutions for 2014:

1. No Soda
2. No Fast Food
3. Walk Lily Every Day and spend more time with her
4. Finish School by May

So lets go into the new year with hope for better year filled with love, joy, ambition, and success.
Let's all make goals/resolutions, write them down, make a goal poster, etc. make your goals visible and see them everyday!

Happy 2014 Everyone, Let's Have a Great Year!
